OUR RESPONSIBILITY

From the beginning, nature has been basis of our operations and part of our business idea. Tackork’s business is based on respect for the surrounding nature and we develop our operations under nature’s conditions. The aspects of sustainable development have been taken into account already in the construction phase.

Respect for nature and ecological values are important goals in our operations. We take care of preserving natural diversity, e.g. by guiding our customers to move along the prepared path of our nature trail, and by preserving natural areas around us. We strive to minimize the use of energy through careful planning.

Our food philosophy is based on local food and ecologically produced game meat. The food served in our restaurant is responsibly produced, and the origin of the main ingredients is told to customers when presenting the restaurant’s menu.

Our environmental responsibility is also reflected in our restaurant operations. We are committed to minimizing the amount of wasted food and favoring seasonal ingredients. Our restaurant staff is instructed to minimize food waste. All our meat dishes are Finnish game meat, which offers a more ecological alternative to intensively produced meat. We get our fish from family businesses in Piipanoja and Haverö in Nagu. We commit to using organic, eco-labelled and seasonal products as much as possible. We always have vegetarian food on our menu. All the wines we serve are made using organic methods. Berries grow on our farm, which we serve for breakfast as well as make jams, juices, sauces and beers from them.

We take sustainability and responsibility into account comprehensively in our operations. In all our activities, we ensure that our environment remains clean for the next generations and that our archipelago is comfortable to live in and visit now and in the future. In 2023, we also joined Business Finland’s Sustainable Travel Finland program. In May 2023, we were awarded the Green Key certificate. The Green Key mark is a recognition of the quality of the company’s operations. It tells about the creditable responsibility work, and meets the growing expectations of customers and partners regarding the responsibility of tourism services.
